Reggaeton stars don’t always fight it out with guns, sometimes they use the Copyright Act and the Lanham Act to fight it out. Case in point is a recent filing at the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. The case is Angel Martinez Alicea, et al v. LT Benjamin Records, Inc, et al. Civ. No. 11-cv-01795.
As you can see, plaintiffs here are suing a good chunk of the leading artists in the reggaeton movement over alleged royalty payments, infringement by distribution and straight out copyright infringement of music and beats.
Here is the complaint, chime in with your thoughts!
